Logging a Workout
The logger, sets, rest, deloads, freestyle, and finishing.
- Start a workout
Start today's program workout, a Flexible or Smart session, or an empty workout from Home
- A tour of the workout logger
What the header, exercise cards, and set rows in the workout logger do
- Log a set
Enter weight and reps, mark a set complete, and use set types and effort ratings
- The rest timer
The rest timer starts automatically after a set, and you can set a rest time per exercise that Kenso remembers
- Change exercises mid-workout
Swap, add, or remove exercises during a workout, then choose whether the change sticks for future workouts or applies only today
- The exercise menu
What each option in an exercise's three-dot menu does during a workout
- Exercise notes
Add a note to an exercise about form, cues, or adjustments, and see your past notes for it
- Deload a session
Turn on Deload to lower your targets for a whole workout or a single exercise, and keep it out of PRs and progression
- Pause and resume a workout
There's no pause button. Leaving the logger keeps your workout going, and Home shows a banner to jump back in
- Finish a workout
Tap Finish to confirm your duration, optionally rate the session, and save your workout for good
- Freestyle mode
Train without a fixed plan: pick a workout each time from Flexible, Smart, and your recent sessions, and Kenso keeps a library of what you've done
- Flexible and Smart workouts
Flexible lets you build a session live with no preset list; Smart suggests one based on your recent training
- Workout conflicts
What happens when you try to start a workout while another strength or cardio session is already in progress
- In-workout coach
Inline coaching tips on exercises are available to any signed-in user; a chat that can see your current workout is a Pro feature
- Custom rep ranges
Pick one of Kenso's rep-range presets, save your own custom range as a preset, or switch an exercise to a time-based target
- Turn off the logger keyboard
On phones, Kenso shows its own number keypad for logging sets instead of your device's keyboard; there's no in-app setting to turn it off yet
