Freestyle is a program mode with no fixed schedule. Instead of a set day-by-day plan, you pick what to train each time you open Kenso. It's what you land on automatically if you end your active program, and you can switch to it any time.
Where to find it
Freestyle shows up on Home as your active program, the same place a structured program's card would sit. You don't go anywhere separate for it.
Getting into Freestyle
Ending your active program from the Programs page switches you to Freestyle automatically. You can also choose it directly when setting up or switching programs. See Switch programs.
Training in Freestyle
Home's top card shows whatever you last picked, with a row of tiles below it to choose something else: Flexible (build the session live, picking exercises as you go), Smart (a suggestion based on your recent training), workouts marked Suggested, and your own recently logged sessions, marked Yours. See Flexible and Smart workouts for what those two tiles do.
Your Freestyle library
As you complete Freestyle sessions, Kenso keeps a day for each distinct combination of muscle groups you've trained, so a session that hit chest, shoulders, and triceps becomes its own entry you can pick again later, alongside your other recent shapes. The tile row shows your six most recent, and tapping one previews it on the card above before you start it.
Good to know
- Freestyle sessions still count toward your history, PRs, and progression the same as a structured program's workouts.
- You can go back to a structured program at any time from the Programs page without losing your Freestyle history.
- If you have more than one training location set up, Freestyle keeps the same location picker as a structured program, so you can switch where you're training without leaving Home.
