Flexible and Smart are two ways to train without following your scheduled plan. Flexible starts an empty session you build as you go; Smart hands you a ready-made session Kenso puts together from your recent training. Both are available whether you're in Freestyle mode or on a structured program.
Where to find it
In Freestyle mode, both appear as tiles in the library row below your Home card. On a structured program, tap Swap on your workout card to open the swap screen, where Flexible and Smart Workout are offered as alternatives to today's scheduled day. Starting either one doesn't change your program, and dismissing it puts your regular scheduled workout back.
Flexible
Flexible opens an empty workout with no exercises preloaded. You add whatever you want to train, one at a time, as you go. It's the "pick as you go" option: no targets waiting for you, nothing to swap out first.
Smart
Smart Workout builds a full session for you: a set of exercises chosen to work on what your recent training hasn't covered as much. Tap the tile to preview it before you start; the card shows why it picked what it did and roughly how long it'll take. Smart Workout is a Pro feature. Free accounts see it locked with a prompt to upgrade.
Good to know
- If Smart Workout can't put together a full session (for example, if you've already covered everything it would suggest, or your recovery signals point to a rest day instead) it tells you why rather than starting an empty one.
- Starting a Flexible or Smart session on a structured-program day is a one-time substitution for that day. It doesn't change what's scheduled for next time.
