You can turn individual Apple Health data types on or off for Kenso at any time, without disconnecting Apple Health entirely. This lives in iOS Settings, not inside Kenso, because that's how Apple Health permissions work for every app.

Where to find it

iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security → Health → Kenso.

Changing what's shared

That screen lists every health data type Kenso has asked to read, each with its own switch. Turn a type off and Kenso stops receiving new data of that type going forward. It doesn't retroactively delete anything Kenso already has, it only stops future updates. Turn a type back on and Kenso resumes reading it the next time it syncs.

What each type feeds

  • HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep feed your readiness and recovery reading. See Readiness.
  • Heart rate during workouts, active and resting energy, and VO2 Max feed training load and the energy side of your recovery page.
  • Body mass and body fat percentage feed your body metrics and can back-fill your bodyweight for exercises logged as bodyweight.
  • Nutrition types (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium, water, caffeine) feed the nutrition and energy-balance views. See Nutrition and energy from Apple Health.
  • Steps feed your daily activity numbers.
  • Workouts let cardio sessions logged in other apps or on your watch appear in Kenso's history automatically.

Turning off a type Kenso relies on for a specific feature doesn't break the rest of the app: that feature falls back to whatever other signals it has, or shows less until the type is back on.

Good to know

  • If you denied Apple Health entirely when first asked, this same screen is where you turn it on. The toggle in Kenso's own Settings can't re-prompt you once you've said no once.
  • Changing permissions here takes effect the next time Kenso syncs, not necessarily instantly.
  • If a type shows no data even though it's allowed, check Apple Health is connected but nothing is syncing.
