If Apple Health shows as connected but you're not seeing HRV, sleep, or other numbers in Kenso, it's almost always one of a few things: a permission wasn't actually granted, the source app isn't writing to Apple Health, or the sync hasn't run yet.
Check the permission actually went through
Denying the connection request, even by accident, leaves the toggle looking connected in some states while nothing is actually shared. Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Kenso and confirm the types you expect are switched on. See Apple Health permissions for the full list and what each one feeds.
First connection can take a moment
The first time you connect, especially on a slower connection or with a lot of Apple Watch history, Kenso's initial sync can take a little longer than later syncs. If the connect step itself seems stuck, you'll see "Apple Health is taking a moment on this device" with the option to skip and connect later from Settings, or "Apple Health didn't respond" with a Try again option. Either is safe: retrying or connecting later from Settings picks up right where you left off.
Kenso only reads what another app wrote
Apple Health is a store, not a data source in itself: a data type only has something in it if some app (Apple's own Health app, your watch, or a third-party app) actually wrote to it. If your resting heart rate or sleep is empty in Apple Health itself, Kenso reading from it will be empty too. Check the type inside the Health app first if you're not sure.
Apple Watch delays
Some Apple Watch metrics, notably overnight HRV and sleep, don't finish processing and land in Apple Health until after your watch syncs to your phone, which can lag behind the moment you wake up. If yesterday's numbers are there but today's aren't yet, that's usually watch-to-phone sync catching up rather than anything wrong with Kenso.
When to reconnect
Sync runs automatically while Kenso is open or when you bring it back to the foreground. You don't need to trigger it manually. If none of the above explains a gap, disconnect and reconnect Apple Health from Settings → Health & Connections: this re-requests permissions and re-triggers an initial pull.
