Kenso reads what you eat from Apple Health (whatever a nutrition app you use writes there) and puts it against what you burned that day, from your workouts, daily activity, and resting metabolism, so you can see your energy balance without logging food directly in Kenso. The Energy & Nutrition section that shows this is a Pro feature.
Where to find it
Recovery page → Energy & Nutrition section.
What's read
Calories, protein, carbohydrates, total and saturated fat, fiber, sugar, sodium, water, and caffeine, whenever an app that writes to Apple Health has logged them. See Nutrition and energy from Apple Health for exactly how each type reaches Kenso.
Expenditure vs. capacity
Today's tile shows calories eaten against calories burned, split into active burn (from workouts and movement) and resting burn (your baseline metabolism). On days without a wearable worn, resting burn is estimated from the days that do have one, so the balance still has a number rather than a gap. A short recent-days history shows the same split for the last couple of weeks, with macros underneath each day, so you can check a day even before today has fully synced.
What it doesn't do
Kenso doesn't set calorie or macro targets, and it doesn't tell you to eat more or less: it shows the balance as a fact, not a prescription. If you want deliberate nutrition coaching, that's outside what this view does.
Good to know
- Nothing here requires logging food inside Kenso: connect a nutrition app to Apple Health and Kenso picks it up automatically.
- Steps are shown alongside the nutrition charts in the same section, since they're part of daily energy burned.
- This is the same data that feeds the Energy pillar on your readiness reading. See Readiness.
