Kenso can download your entire workout history as a file, so you can keep a backup or bring your data somewhere else. Choose JSON for a detailed file you can re-import into Kenso later, or CSV for a flat spreadsheet with one row per set.

Where to find it

Settings → Data & Sync → Export Workout Data.

Choosing a format

  • JSON is the detailed format: it keeps the full structure of your sessions, exercises, and sets, and is what Kenso itself reads back in if you re-import. Choose this if the export is a backup or you might bring it back into Kenso.
  • CSV is a flat, one-row-per-set format for spreadsheets and outside analysis. Choose this if you're opening the file in Excel, Google Sheets, or another app.

Downloading the file

Tap Export, then Export JSON or Export CSV depending on which format you picked. On the web app the file downloads through your browser like any other download. In the native app, the file is handed to your device to save or share.

Good to know

  • The export covers your complete workout history at the time you run it. There's no way to export only a date range from this dialog.
  • Exporting doesn't change or remove anything in Kenso; you can export as many times as you like.
  • A JSON export is the file Import a previous Kenso export expects if you ever need to bring the data back in, whether into this account or a different one.
