Training Locations let you tell Kenso where you train (Full Gym, Home Gym, or any place you add yourself) so a program can use different exercise setups depending on where you're working out that day.

Where to find it

Settings → Training Profile → Training Locations. You can also manage locations from Home's location picker, or from the training-location dialog inside a workout preview.

Adding and managing locations

Kenso starts you with two built-in locations, Full Gym and Home Gym. Type a name in "Add new location…" to add more: a garage setup, a hotel gym, anywhere your available equipment differs. Each location can be renamed. Custom locations can be deleted; the built-in ones and your current default can't.

Setting a default

One location is always your default. Tap Set Default on any other location to make it the one your workouts use unless you pick a different one. Changing your default clears any in-progress workout data cached for the old default so the switch takes effect cleanly.

Choosing a location for a session

Before starting a workout, use the location picker (the pin icon near the workout hero on Home) to pick which location you're training at. That choice determines which version of each exercise you see for that session, and it stays fixed once the session has started.

Good to know

  • A location only diverges from the program's template once you actually change an exercise while that location is selected. See Location Variants for how that works.
  • Deleting a custom location deletes its exercise variants too: any exercises you'd changed for that location fall back to the program default. Kenso warns you about this before you confirm the delete.
  • The location picker only appears once you have more than one location set up.
