Settings → Preferences has three display toggles: Weight Unit (lbs/kg), Effort Scale (RPE/RIR), and Start of Week (Sun/Mon). Each changes how numbers are labeled and entered going forward. None of them retroactively converts what you've already logged.

Where to find it

Settings → Preferences.

Weight Unit

Switch between LBS and KG. This changes the unit label on the keypad, plate strip, and everywhere weights are shown. Kenso stores each weight exactly as you entered it, so switching the toggle relabels the unit for new entries. It does not convert weights you've already logged.

Effort Scale

Switch between RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) and RIR (Reps in Reserve) for the effort box you fill in after a set. Both describe the same thing from opposite ends (how many reps you had left in the tank), so switching is a display preference, not a different rating: an RPE of 9 and an RIR of 1 mean the same effort. Pick whichever scale you already think in; Kenso's coaching and progression read either one the same way.

Start of Week

Switch between Sunday and Monday as the first day of your training week. This affects how Kenso groups your week everywhere a week boundary matters: weekly volume, the weekly review, and history grouped by week.

Good to know

  • These are personal preferences, not tied to your program. Changing them doesn't affect anyone else's account or a program you've shared.
  • The plate calculator (Settings → Preferences → Plate Calculator) uses whichever weight unit you have selected. See Plate calculator.
