"Health data for AI" is a separate switch from AI coaching itself: it decides whether your coach, the Kenso app for ChatGPT, and the Claude connector can read your recovery, HRV, sleep, nutrition, and body metrics specifically. Turn it off and those assistants still work, without that data.
Where to find it
Settings → Health & Connections → Health data for AI.
What it controls
When this is on, your coach and any connected AI assistant can read your recovery signals, HRV, sleep, nutrition, and body metrics when relevant to your question. When it's off, they plan your training without that context; everything else about the coach still works.
How it differs from the other switches
Three separate controls answer three separate questions:
- AI coaching: whether anything reaches an AI provider at all.
- Health data for AI: whether health data specifically is included, once AI coaching is already on.
- Sync Apple Health: where your health data is allowed to rest on Kenso's servers in the first place, independent of AI. See Deleting synced health data.
Turning it off
Toggle it off anytime from Settings → Health & Connections. This switch is disabled until AI coaching itself is turned on, since it only scopes what an already-consented session can see.
Good to know
- This affects Kenso's own coach as well as the ChatGPT and Claude connectors equally.
- Turning it off doesn't stop your health data from syncing to Kenso: that's controlled separately by Sync Apple Health.
