Kenso asks for push-notification permission the first time you open the Home screen on the iOS app after signing in, and uses it for occasional training reminders and a daily coaching nudge. There's no notifications switch inside Kenso itself: permission is managed through iOS.
Where to find it
iOS Settings app → Notifications → Kenso. Kenso's own Settings has no separate notifications toggle.
What triggers the prompt
The permission request appears the first time you land on Home after signing in, and it's skipped for guest sessions. If you decline, Kenso won't send notifications; nothing else about the app changes.
What Kenso sends
Occasional reminders if you leave a workout or cardio session open without finishing it, and a periodic coaching nudge summarizing your training. Kenso doesn't use push for anything else.
Turning notifications off or back on
Since permission lives in iOS rather than in Kenso, go to iOS Settings → Notifications → Kenso to turn notifications off, change how they're shown, or turn them back on. Kenso re-checks your permission status each time you open the app, so there's no need to reinstall it after changing the setting: flip the switch in iOS Settings and Kenso picks it up the next time you open it.
If you declined the prompt
Once you've said no to the initial permission prompt, Kenso can't ask again from inside the app. That's how iOS works for every app, not something Kenso controls. To start receiving notifications after declining, turn them on from iOS Settings → Notifications → Kenso rather than looking for a retry button in Kenso itself.
Good to know
- Notifications only work on the iOS app: the web app doesn't send push notifications.
- Signing out and back in doesn't re-trigger the permission prompt if you've already answered it once; iOS remembers your choice per app, not per Kenso account.
