Kenso runs as a native iPhone app and as a web app at kensoforge.com: the same account, the same data, on either. A handful of features need the native app because they depend on iOS system features: Apple Health, the lock-screen rest timer (Live Activity), and push notifications. Everything else (logging, programs, coach, progression, history) works the same on both.

iPhone-only features

  • Apple Health: reading recovery signals (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep) and writing workouts back to Health requires the native app. See Connect Apple Health.
  • Lock-screen rest timer: the rest timer shown on your lock screen during a workout (Live Activity) is an iOS-only capability. See Rest timer.
  • Push notifications: reminders and alerts delivered as phone notifications require the native app and its notification permission. See Notifications.

What works everywhere

Workout logging, programs (building, importing, switching), the AI coach, progression, history, and account settings all work the same in the web app as in the iPhone app.

Installing

Get the iPhone app from the App Store. The web app needs no install. Open kensoforge.com in a browser and sign in. On an iPhone browser you can also add the web app to your home screen for an app-like icon, though the native features above still won't be available through it. For those, use the App Store app.

Good to know

  • Signing in with the same account on both keeps your data in sync: nothing is tied to one platform.
  • If a feature mentions Apple Health, Live Activity, or push notifications and you're on the web, that's expected. Switch to the iPhone app for those.
