Kenso is a strength-training app that reads the training you're already doing (at one gym or several) and decides what should happen next. It picks your next weights, tracks what your training is producing by muscle group and by program, and reads your recovery so it knows when to push and when to back off. You can follow a structured program or log freestyle without one; either way Kenso adapts to you.

Bring your training with you

Import your Strong or Hevy history and Kenso reconstructs a program and its progression from it. With no history to bring, start from a ready-made template, a photo or PDF of a written plan, or have AI build one for you.

Train the way you want

Kenso supports several progression methods (the logic that decides how your weights and reps move over time), set globally or per exercise. You choose which one runs each lift; Kenso can also recommend one.

It adapts to real life

The same program can look different at a full gym and at home: different equipment and exercise variants per location, and each location keeps its own progression history. Switch locations from Home and Kenso swaps in the right exercises automatically. See Training Locations.

It coaches the workout itself

During a session Kenso suggests your next weights, ranks exercise swaps by quality, tracks rest, and shows live weekly volume per muscle as you train.

It learns what your training is producing

Beyond sets and reps, Kenso reports strength trends by muscle group, which lifts are driving progress, personal records, and where a muscle group is getting more or less than it needs. See Strength Score.

It evaluates the program, not only the workout

Kenso also reports on the program you're running: how consistently you're training it and how much of the week lands in productive volume.

The AI coach sits over all of it

Kenso's coach reasons across your workouts, program, performance, and recovery together, rather than answering from a single screen. See In-workout coach.

Good to know

  • Kenso works on iPhone and on the web. See iPhone app, web app, and what differs.
  • Nothing here locks you in: programs, progression methods, and locations are all changeable after you set them up.
