Saved programs that aren't currently active can be edited directly, right from their menu. Your active program has two paths: the recommended one, Duplicate to Edit, and a direct Edit Program option reachable from the Change Program screen.
Where to find it
- Saved (inactive) program: Programs tab → Change → open the program's menu → Edit Program.
- Active program, recommended: Programs tab → open the program's menu → Duplicate to Edit.
- Active program, direct: Programs tab → Change → the Current Program card's menu → Edit Program.
Why Duplicate to Edit is recommended
Once you swap, add, remove, or reorder an exercise inside your active program (including changes made mid-workout), Kenso creates a location-specific version of that day that takes over from the template (see Location Variants). Editing the underlying template directly afterward can leave that location's version out of sync with the change you made. Duplicate to Edit sidesteps this: it makes a copy of the program, leaves the one you're running untouched, and lets you edit the copy at your own pace. When you're happy with it, you activate the copy in place of the original.
Editing the active program directly
The Current Program card on the Change Program screen also offers Edit Program, which opens your active program itself in the builder, not a copy. Saving from there rewrites that same program immediately, including the week you're currently on, since there's no separate version standing between your edit and what you're running. This is a real, available option, but Duplicate to Edit is the recommended path specifically because it doesn't touch the program mid-cycle while you're still deciding what to change.
Mid-workout changes
If you swap, add, remove, or reorder an exercise while logging a workout from your active program, Kenso asks when you finish: "Save changes for future workouts?" Your options are:
- Save to Program: keep the change going forward, either in the program's default version or in the specific training location's version if that's where you made it.
- Today only: keep the change for this session and discard it afterward; the program goes back to how it was.
Good to know
- Editing a saved program that's never been activated, or one you previously ran and ended, works the same as editing any other draft: open it and change what you want.
- A program's progression strategy is set from within the editor too. See Program Settings.
- Edits made while a specific training location is selected only apply to that location. See Location Variants.
