Onboarding asks a handful of questions so Kenso can set up a starting program: how you like to train, how many days a week, and (for iPhone) whether to connect Apple Health. Every answer here is a starting point, not a commitment; you can change your program, your schedule, and your connections at any time from Settings or the Programs page.

How do you like to train?

The first choice is Follow a Program (pick from ready-made programs, import your own, or build one) or Just Train (log workouts and let Kenso adapt to you: this is freestyle mode). See Flexible and Smart workouts for what freestyle looks like day to day.

Training rhythm

If you're following a program, Kenso asks whether you have a rhythm in mind: Recommend for Me, Push / Pull / Legs, Upper / Lower, Full Body, or Body Part Split. If you don't know, "Recommend for Me" is fine. Kenso picks one based on your schedule.

Weekly pace

Next you set how many days a week you plan to train: 2–3, 4, or 5–6 workouts. This sets your starting program's schedule, not a hard limit. You can train more or fewer days than planned.

Apple Health (iPhone only)

On the iPhone app, onboarding offers to connect Apple Health. This feeds your recovery signal and daily readiness. It's optional here and skippable. You can connect it later from Settings. See Connect Apple Health.

Good to know

  • None of these choices are final. Switch or edit your program any time from the Programs page, and change your training locations, progression settings, or Apple Health connection from Settings.
  • If you have training history in Strong or Hevy, bring it in during onboarding or later from Settings. See Bring your training history into Kenso.
