The AI Assistant creation method generates a complete program (days, exercises, sets, and reps) from a few inputs you give it. It's a Pro feature, and you still review and edit everything it produces before saving.
Where to find it
Programs tab → Create Program → tap AI Assistant under Assistance.
Setting it up
After choosing AI Assistant, tell Kenso what you have to work with:
- Equipment available: toggle off anything you don't have access to; bodyweight is always available.
- Additional context: an optional free-text note (up to 500 characters) for anything the equipment list doesn't cover, like "3 accessories per day" or "no overhead pressing."
- Use my training history: an optional switch that lets the generator consider your PRs, favorite exercises, and recent volume when building the program.
You also set the usual basics (routine name, main goal, days per week, program duration, and split type), the same fields the manual builder uses.
Generating and reviewing
Tap Generate Program. Kenso builds the full day-by-day structure and drops you into the same editor you'd use for a manual build, with every exercise, set, and rep already filled in. Nothing is saved yet, so swap exercises, adjust sets and reps, or add and remove days before you save.
Good to know
- AI Assistant is locked for free accounts; tapping it opens the upgrade prompt. See Free vs. Pro.
- Progression strategy for main lifts and accessories is chosen the same way as a manual build. See Program Settings.
- Building a 5/3/1 program with AI Assistant generates the standard four-day Wendler structure and lets AI pick your accessory work instead of the main lifts.
