If an exercise you do isn't in Kenso's library, you can add it yourself. Custom exercises are private to your account and show up alongside the built-in catalog anywhere you pick exercises.
Where to find it
Open the exercise library (Settings → Exercise Library, or any exercise picker while building or logging a workout) and tap Custom.
Adding one
Give it a name and pick the muscle group it targets, then tap Create Exercise. That's all Kenso needs to get started; it's saved immediately and, outside of the library's browse view, selected straight into whatever you were building at the time.
Why add one instead of using a close match
Kenso's swap suggestions can usually find something close to what you're after, but if you're training a specific variation your gym calls by its own name, or a movement that genuinely isn't a variant of anything in the catalog, adding it as custom keeps your history and program clean under the name you actually use.
Good to know
- Custom exercises carry a Custom badge everywhere they appear, so you can tell them apart from the built-in catalog at a glance.
- They don't get a Kenso tier badge: tiering is scored against the built-in catalog, so a custom entry stays untiered.
- Only you can see and use a custom exercise you add; it doesn't appear in anyone else's library.
- Details the built-in catalog shows (canonical rep ranges, form tips, demo animations) aren't available for custom exercises yet.
- To rename or fix a custom exercise you've already added, reach out through Send feedback rather than recreating it.
